0x

Brief customer description

0x is an open protocol that provides an infrastructure to enable the decentralized exchange of assets on the Ethereum blockchain. The 0x protocol employs off-chain transaction relay with on-chain settlement via its Ethereum-based smart contract pipeline. The ZRX token functions as a governance token that enables ecosystem stakeholders to coordinate upgrades to the protocol.

Project Description

Developing a solution from scratch using 0x can be challenging and time-consuming. Protofire and the 0x team are working on a reference implementation called the 0x Launch Kit. The Kit includes a simple, extensible 0x relayer codebase that can be forked or used as reference material to create your own marketplace. [1]

The Launch Kit addresses many issues and simplifies integrating with 0x, reducing the effort needed to add decentralized token trading to your project. The solution serves as an out-of-the-box and fully functional working reference for any developer or organization willing to launch a relayer in under a minute. The Launch Kit also features a neat and tidy UI, ensuring unsurpassed user experience.

Fairdex

Brief customer description

Gnosis is a decentralized and permissionless platform that caters to the creation of prediction market applications on Ethereum. Gnosis stands behind the DutchX product, a fully decentralized auction platform.

Through the Gnosis Ecosystem Fund, both Protofire and Gnosis worked collaboratively to further develop the DutchX ecosystem and increase platform adoption.

Project Description

Protofire contributed to the development of DutchX by creating FairDex, the first dApp of the trading platform. FairDex enables bidders to browse through upcoming, active, and completed auctions. In addition, bidders can monitor auction details and charts, as well as place bids.

This project proves the possibility of transforming complex protocols into usable applications.

By bidding through FairDex, traders always get a fair price for their tokens thanks to the Dutch auction mechanism. Even though auctions take several hours to complete, traders get immediate liquidity, while also reaping the benefits of a slow and decentralized auction.

With the creation of FairDex, the Protofire team provided the DutchX ecosystem with an open-source, robust, and easy-to-use web application, which places an emphasis on user experience.

FairDex has already become a key member of the DutchX family thanks to the ETH-DAI auctions campaign that Gnosis funded with $1.000.000.

MakerDAO

Brief customer description

Launched in 2014, Maker is a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) building a protocol on top of the Ethereum blockchain. The protocol allows for lending and borrowing digital assets with no middlemen involved. In MakerDAO, token holders perform governance through polling and voting for protocol changes, while managing DeFi risks.

One of the unique goals behind MakerDAO was to create its own stablecoin—DAI—that is backed by crypto collaterals and stored publicly on the Ethereum blockchain.

Maker Governance Dashboard

Protofire built Maker Governance Analytics Dashboard that provides users with a single location to track the latest updates and view historical data. Through the dashboard, it is possible to access information crucial for voting and polling, such as a stability fee, debt ceiling, multi-collateral DAI assets, etc. In addition, the dashboard allows for monitoring overall engagement metrics in the MakerDAO system.

With an easy-to-navigate interface, end users can make well-informed decisions, as well as have a clear and precise view of the MakerDAO governance.

CDP Insurance

Protofire contributed to the development of CDP Insurance—a risk pool that protects owners of CDP in MakerDAO from getting liquidated or penalized with a fee. Under the project, our team developed three modules: a monitoring system, a CDP closure service, and a collateral protection solution.

During the first milestone, Protofire built CDP Alert —a system that allows a user to monitor CDPs and get notifications when the collateralization ratio range is exceeded.

As a result of the second milestone, our engineers delivered a service that enables users to automatically close their CDPs without paying a liquidation fee.

On the completion of the third milestone, the team at Protofire developed a collateral protection solution. Using this system, CDP owners can rely on third-party risk pools and insurance companies that automatically top up collaterals when they are close to getting liquidated.

CDP Insurance v.1 was donated to Atomica —a company building an autonomous algorithmic protocol designed for developers and capital providers to pool, buy, and sell DeFi risks.

Now, Atomica has released the second version of the product that can be found in the project’s GitHub repo
