Safe: $2B+ secured across 120+ EVM networks
Safe (formerly Gnosis Safe) is the smart-account standard behind on-chain custody for DAOs, institutions, and individuals: a multisig account that requires several signers to approve a transaction, so no single key can move funds. As an official Safe Guardian, Protofire deploys and maintains that infrastructure across the EVM landscape.
Each network needs its own Safe contracts, indexing, interface, and ongoing maintenance. Protofire has brought Safe to 120+ EVM networks, including Blast, Mantle, Linea, Scroll, zkSync, and Berachain, and the networks Protofire deployed now secure $2B+ in assets. The deployment gateway is safe.protofire.io.
“Each network needs its own Safe contracts, indexing, interface, and ongoing maintenance.”
The challenge: securing assets across many EVM networks
A single-signature wallet is one key away from total loss: if that key is phished, leaked, or lost, the funds are gone, and for a DAO or an institution there is no way to share control or require review before money moves. A multisig account solves that by requiring several signers, but it only helps if it actually exists on the chain a team is using.
Safe is a set of smart accounts plus the indexing and interface that make them usable, and every network launches without it. Bringing Safe to a new chain is not a one-time contract push: each network needs its own Safe contracts, indexing, interface, and ongoing maintenance, and a wallet that holds real value is only trustworthy if it is deployed correctly and kept live.
How Protofire scaled Safe multisig deployment to 120+ networks
As an official Safe Guardian, Protofire deploys and maintains Safe across networks including Blast, Mantle, Linea, Scroll, zkSync, and Berachain, and contributed zkSync compatibility to the stack. For each network Protofire delivers the full package: smart-contract deployment, backend and indexing services, a customized interface with mobile support, and ongoing monitoring and maintenance.
Six networks were migrated onto the safe.global interface, and deployments extend to newer environments such as Botanix, Nibiru EVM, Moonbeam, and TAC. Because a Safe requires multiple approvals, typically a 2-of-3 or 2-of-4 signer set, teams keep collaborative control and can replace a lost or compromised signer without losing the account.
What shipped
Safe now runs as institutional-grade custody on 120+ EVM networks that Protofire deployed and maintains, together securing $2B+ in assets. Holders keep a non-custodial multisig that works with wallets like MetaMask, WalletConnect, Ledger, and Trezor, and can manage, stake, lend, and borrow through Safe's app ecosystem. Across its whole ecosystem, Safe secures assets for more than 10 million accounts (source: Safe).
